Getting Started

 

The UTB desktop icon utb_desktop_icon presents a simple to use GUI; Use the guide below to quickly get started with the UTB:

 

Depending on your PC set-up, when the UTB is displayed the following options are available.  However, you will be required initially to specify the connection to your specified database.

 

The following Icons appear on the UTB toolbar.  On initial entry only the Connect to Data Source, Load Saved Query and the Help options are selectable.  All remaining icons become available after connection to a Data Source, or a saved query has been loaded.

You can use the GUI SQL builder to build your query or enter your SQL statement straight into the SQL source pane.

 

A standard Windows Menu bar also displays above the Toolbar and shows, File, Edit, View, Query, Tools, Window and Help options.  The View Menu option allows either the Toolbar and/or  the Status bar to be toggled on or off.  Other functions available from the Menu bar are discussed in this manual as they become appropriate.
