Correct Sub Systems Running
ODBC jobs (QZDASOINIT), which are TCP/IP-connected, run within the QSERVER subsystem. You should verify that this subsystem is running successfully.
If necessary, the SERVER subsystem can be started manually by issuing the following iSeries (AS/400) command:
STRSBS QSERVER
It is possible to have the QSERVER subsystem start automatically at the Initial Program Load (IPL). If this is not already configured you will need to modify the IPL Start-Up procedure. This is achieved by adding the STRSBS QSERVER command onto the default IPL Start-Up command of QSYS/QSTRUP.
In addition to subsystem QSERVER, subsystem QSYSWRK must be running.
If you are in any doubt about these commands you are strongly advised to consult your Systems Administrator.
The above example shows the result of a WRKACTJOB command and subsystem QSERVER is active.
