Gateway Machine Pre-Installation Check List
Before installing the Gateway Machine Check the following:
You have a copy of jdeDirect Thin Client Service installation executable downloaded to the GATEWAY machine or accessible via a network share. Download the software via the webpage as described in the introduction.
| • | Ensure that you have the correct version of MDAC installed on your system. |
| • | Ensure that the GATEWAY Machine has a copy of the JD Edwards Fat Client installed. |
| • | Ensure that you can log into the JD Edwards system. |
| • | You have a OneWorld User id that has been granted authority to one or more OneWorld environments. The jdeDirect ODBC driver respects OneWorld environment security and will only allow access to those environments that your OneWorld user id has been granted. |
| • | Ensure that you have ADMIN rights to the GATEWAY machine. |
| • | Document the following values from your JDE.INI files section [DB SYSTEM SETTINGS] |
o Base Datasource = sysdb_value
o Object Owner= sysdbo_value
| • | Document the IP Address of the GATEWAY machine. |
o GATEWAY machine IP ADDRESS = nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn
| • | Check if you have the OneWorld Security Patch installed or if your installation is version 8.9 or higher, if you have, ensure you have a valid database User id and password (READ ONLY) available to configure in the database proxy program. |
