jdeDirect ODBC for JDE World Single User v2.0
To start the download follow the Start Download & Installation - Common section of this manual.
If you are installing the jdeDirect ODBC driver for JDE World, you will have reached the Setup Type InstallShield wizard as shown below.
Note: For this installation you will need your:

| • | Security Library name |
| • | Operating Environment |
If they are not available, please re-read the Prerequisites section of this manual before proceeding.
The default install option is for a Typical installation. Leave this unchanged as there is only one way to install the jdeDirect ODBC driver and selecting Compact or Custom will make no difference to the installation. If you do select the Custom option, you will be presented with the following screen with one option. This is the Typical option.
Select Next to continue the installation and display the iSeries IP address input screen.
On first time entry, this screen will be BLANK. If however this driver has been downloaded before the IP address may appear prefilled.
Enter your correct iSeries IP address or if not known ask your Systems Administrator for details.
Click Next and the iSeries login dialog box appears.
Enter your iSeries login details
User Name:
Password:
and Select Next.
The system checks for login details and the log in information box displays a wait warning.
If the IP address or User details are incorrect, then the ERROR information Box is displayed.
In this case connection to the iSeries (AS/400) was not available. Consult your systems Administrator and check the iSeries machine and correct the problem.
Go back and re-enter either the IP address and/or the User details. When all details are correct, then the 'Select Security Library' dialog box displays
If this is the first time a download has occurred then the dialog box will show with the request to <select security library>.
Click on the down arrow to display the options available to this User.
In this instance shown, only JDFSEC Security library is associated with the User (ASmith) who is signing in, but the system is checking the JDE security file settings and there may be a choice of libraries. In which case select the required library and then select Next.
On selecting Next the Default Environment dialog box displays a list of all the JDE environments available.
Highlight the required environment and select Next.
If no Environment is highlighted and Next is selected then after a few seconds the 'Missing Information' dialog box is displayed showing that no valid environment had been selected. Select OK and highlight an environment to continue. Select Next to display the final Check Setup Information wizard.
The final summary installation wizard is displayed.
Select Next for the install wizard to finalise installation. During loading the following Information box is displayed.
Be patient and wait for loading to complete.
Once loaded the install wizard will continue with the request for activation code authentication and the License Application information will be displayed.
