Gateway Machine Pre-Installation Check List
Before installing the Gateway Machine Check the following:
You have a copy of jdeDirect Thin Client Service installation executable downloaded to the GATEWAY machine or accessible via a network share. Download the software via the webpage as described in the introduction.
| • | Ensure that you have the correct version of MDAC installed on your system. |
| • | Ensure that you can log into the JD Edwards system. |

| • | Document the following values from your JDE.INI files section [DB SYSTEM SETTINGS] |
o Base Datasource = sysdb_value
o Object Owner= sysdbo_value
| • | Document the IP Address of the GATEWAY machine. |
o GATEWAY machine IP ADDRESS = nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn and should be a fixed address
| • | Access to the JDE Enterprise E1 Server 'Classes (.jar) Files'. These will typically be located at C:\E1Jave_Classes/Ennn........?\Classes. |
| • | If you are installing the Service on a machine with Service Pack 23 you will need access to the PTF.log files. |
Note: The installation of the Gateway Service is not now JDE Enterprise Service pack dependent with Version 3.0 (and above) of the JDEDirect driver.
