How to Use The ODBC Driver.

You have now downloaded and installed the required ODBC driver and you wish to run the driver in order to create and run a Crystal report.

During the connection process the 'Data Link Properties' dialog box (Shown below) will be displayed.

Data_link_properties_Connection_tab1

Within the 'Specify the source of data' section of the Connection tab, activate the 'Use Data Source Name' option.

Use the drop down menu to select from the available ODBC Data Source options.

The options available will depend on the ERP system installed and setting previously entered in the Connection Type dialog box. A drop down list will be displayed for selection of the required data Source to be selected.

Select the required Data Source from the drop down options available.

It is now possible to select OK and the jdeDirect Login dialog Box will be displayed, for input of:

1. User Name:        AUSER

2. Password:                ************

3. Environment:        PD810

4. Role:                Purchasing

NOTE: A new input requirement is 'Role' has been added from version 8.9 of base JDE.  This 'Role' field will always appear at connect, but only from v8.9 upwards will you be required to make an entry.  *ALL will be assumed if no entry made for the Role.

It is easier and quicker to use section 2. Enter information to Log on to the server to complete the login process.

Enter in User name: PD810\AUSER AS Purchasing

Password: ************

Note the form and sequence of the entry in the User name field.  The Environment\UserName AS Role.

Where in this example Environment = PD810,

User Name = AUSER, and

Role  = Purchasing

Password is the same wherever.
