ODBC Thin Client Single User Installation, Client Machine, Fat Client IS Installed (Post Service Pack 22)
You have started the installation of the jdeDirect One World ODBC driver and having completed the common download functionality, the following Welcome to the Configure E1 Connection Tool is displayed.
Three options are available to you.
The installation route depends on your PC setup. In this example the driver is being installed on a PC with a Fat Client installed. In this case, the Typical and Gateway Service route options are different.
Leave the default as Typical: This is the Recommended route.
The installation process uses the DBProxy and the following screen requests the following:
Database Login Details: DB User ID DB Password
JDE Login Details: JDE User ID JDE Password Environment
These input fields are blank on first time entry but if this is a reinstallation then the fields may be pre-filled. Enter all details as requested and select Next.
jdeDirect supports LDAP based Single Sign On if your JDE OneWorld or EnterpriseOne system is configured to do so. See a detailed discussion under Single Sign On later in this manual. If the Single Sign On / Unified Log On tick box appears hear then select as required else just select, Next to continue.
The first time installation default entry 'I have a single database User ID and Password for ALL connections', is pre-selected. This means that a single DB User and password has been setup for all connections and is designed to make password change control easier. If available from your Systems Manager enter details and select Next to display the Port setting default screen.
If the second radio button 'I DO NOT have a single database User and Password for ALL connections' is selected, the User ID and Password entry boxes are greyed out and the system uses the F98OWSEC table. No single entry is possible. Select Next to continue and the final database password screen appears.
If this is not the first installation (Multiple threads in use) then the default entry here is the same as your 'last time' selection. In this case the second option was taken last time and is now the default.
Enter the necessary passwords against the DB User ID's listed.
On selecting Next the jdeDirect Gateway Advanced Settings screen displays the default TCP/IP port
After successful implementation of the driver you will be asked to complete License details.
Finally if the Unity Universal Table Browser (UTB) is not installed, you will be asked if you wish to install now?
If the Gateway Service install route is preferred then see below:
Select the Gateway Service installation option. The next screen asks for the IP address and Port number of the Gateway Service. If this is the first time the driver has been installed the Gateway IP will have 1.1.1.1 as default. Enter the known IP address.
The installation process is now similar to that without a Fat Client installed.
See the Fat Client NOT installed installation process for details.
