Special Instructions for erpDirect Users

Our Crystal Reports templates are built using a specific DSN that may not be present on a erpDirect Install, these instructions explain how to create the required DSN to allow the templates to work in Crystal.

Take a copy (screen shot) of an existing (working) erpDirect DSN -
Click - Start, Settings, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Data Sources (ODBC)

In the ODBC Data Source Administrator screen, select the System tab, double click the UTB_WORLD DSN, and take a screen shot of this DSN.

Click CANCEL.

Create a NEW erpDirect Data Source (DSN) based on the screen shot just taken.

• Click ADD
• Select erpDirect ODBC driver from the list
• Click FINISH
• Enter "jdeDirectWorld_STN_SCN" as the name
• Enter a suitable description
• Enter the Environment, iSeries Host Name and Security Library Name exactly from the screen shot.

Ensure the 2 check boxes below the Security Library Name and above the "Options" are set exactly as in your screen shot.

Configure the "Options" as follows:

    Table Names:

        Select SHORT
        Nothing else should be selected or checked

    Column Names:           

        Select "Short"
        Check Enable UDC descriptions 1
        Check Enable UDC descriptions 2
        Nothing else should be selected or checked

Click OK

Configuration complete.
