jdeDirect ODBC Driver Download Process - Common
All jdeDirect ODBC driver download options start from the Unity home page.
Select jdeDirect, Downloads as shown, to log into your User Account.
You are required to login to your account before a download can occur. Enter an account Username and password and select LOGIN. If this is the first time you have attempted a download then you will be required to create a new User account.
Enter your details as requested. The minimum requirements are that the *'d fields MUST be completed. Select REGISTER to send your registration details to Unity.
You have now registered your details with Unity. An auto-reply e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address entered on the registration form. This confirms your User Id, returns a Portal Password for you and allocates a Customer number.
This information will be required for every download requested so it is advisable to note the details.
You will now be presented with your 'My Account' details, which on first entry will be blank in the Product Name section.
The My Account screen shot is not shown as it is dynamic and changes regularly. However, The following details will appear and should be noted for future use (Product Licensing).
Name; e-mail; Address; Customer Details {Id No.]; Address; jdeDirect Products (see below); Product Name; Version; Product ID; Product Password; Installs Purchased; Activated; Licensed Users; Expiration Date; Manual Activation.
Eight options are available:
New Customers are always advised to download Version 3 of the ODBC driver. Existing Customers should download the highest version of the driver available to them under their current maintenance contract.
Irrespective of the application selected the initial download process is common to all. This section of the Manual describes that common download process.

Select the option required and the first download dialog box appears.
The download process is common in the initial stages irrespective of which driver you wish to download. In this example jdeDirectODBC_v2.0_W_SU.zip file has been selected. The process is the same, only the wording of the file details changes. On OK you will be asked whether you want to Open or Save the file.
In this example the zip file is saved to the desktop.
During download the dialog box displays the stage in the process.
On completion of the .zip file download to your assigned destination, select the option and then click on the setup.exe application name.
On selecting the Setup.exe option, there will be a File Download - Security Warning. This is standard to ensure that you do not download any virus contaminated software to your systems! When downloading the Gateway Service software the application will be shown as jdeDirectTCS.exe
Select Run to continue. The jdeDirect InstallShield wizard will now start. Depending on the download, the text will show either jdeDirectWorld, jdeDirectOneWorld or erpDirectWorld. Click Next as directed.
NOTE: Throughout the installation process the various screen display three options;, Back, Next, or Cancel. In every case the Back option returns one step in the installation process to allow re-input of details or for the input to be rechecked. The Cancel option displays the following Warning
Select Yes if you wish to quit the setup and start again later. Select No to continue with the setup.
If for any reason you are trying to download the driver and it is already installed on your PC etc. then a Severe Error message will be displayed stating 'Error, you must uninstall your existing ' ' driver before proceeding. Select OK to display the Install Wizard with the option 'Finish'. Select 'Finish' to stop the download and installation.
If you continue with the installation process then the Welcome Installation wizard appears
The Unity License Agreement dialog box will appear.
You must accept the terms of this License Agreement in order to continue. On acceptance of the License Agreement the Customer Information dialog box appears.
Enter your User Name and Company name as originally entered on the My Account details. Select Next to continue.
The download allocates a default Destination Location for the driver as shown. You may Browse and change the default or accept as is. Select Next to continue.
The Check Setup Information dialog box displays a final summary of your download selection. The Destination Directory path will end with the driver being installed; in this example jdeDirect but it could have been jdeDirectWorld.
Select Back to go back in stages to change anything. Select Next to start the particular ODBC setup you require.
Depending on your the following factors, your installation will follow a different path: What version of JD Edwards OneWorld you have installed What Service pack is installed Whether you have a Fat Client installed Whether you want to use a Fat Client Whether you want to use a Gateway Service Whether you want to install a Pass Through version of the driver If you want to install a StandAlone version of the driver If you are a World user

There are two further routes to continue the setup for erpDirect RUL installation. In this instance the start point is a CD provided by Oracle but after the setup.exe has been run and the License Agreement Wizard has been accepted the common process is as described above,
